show or hide online status – how ?

I am sorry if I have missed this, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Social nets are all about privacy controls. Most users want to know how they

can hide their online status.

I searched and looked into the profile edit area but not finding how

an user can show or hide online status

privacy control has not yet been implemented, try searching for privacy and you can read about some plugins that are being developed for this, and you could suggest this be added to their plugins, tbh i thought privacy was quite a key feature for social networks too so im surprized it got left out

Yea this is a big deal. I have had several users ask how to hide their profile.

I have searched this for buddypress but not found anything suitable

If any one can provide a tweak kindly, it will help immensely.

A couple moderators are currently working on a privacy control component that will effectively give users fine, granular control over who has access to which pieces of their personal data. It is a complex process.

So, the answer to your questions is that it is coming, be patient. It is not something as simple as a tweak!
