site wide activity stream not working

    I’ve no idea why my site wide activity stream is displaying “There has been no recent site activity” when there has been several posts from member blogs, and a couple of groups created. It was working before but I have swapped BP themes recently? Is it possible to reinstall the plugin? The site is here:

    I had this problem too, and solved it by running a fresh install on a new PHP5 database. I’m not live yet so could get away with this (although you could just export and import your data). I think the solution is that you need to run a SQL on the database to manually install the bp-activity tables. Unfortunately, my knowledge of MySQL is poor. Anyone else, how would you do this?

    Thanks so much testalib … I have to say though that I’m scared out of my life with your suggestion as I have no idea how to go about that. Could there be a simpler way? Thanks again

    Well if all you did was change a theme in the first place, try changing it back and see if that solves it. If it does, you’re a step closer to working out the solution. It might be something simple like a lack of support for it in the new theme. All you’d have to do would be to cut and paste the info from the old theme (which must be newer and did support it) into the new one (which is probably old and was designed before activity streams were invented). Let us know how this goes!
