Trunk r1128 (&RC-1) localization problem

  • Thanks for fixing the widget bug metioned in this closed topic (http://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=1250) with the newest trunk, andy!

    Now, the widgets show.

    To things:

    1. When I install the language-file (in my case german) I have to re-activate all the widgets, that were activated with the standard-english-version. Should that be like that?

    2. In the standard-english-version the activity-feed RSS-Links are working. But still not with a translation-file running.

    3. Are there more “strange” things people are experiencing with other languages activated (i jsut found out, when I switched back to english…)

1- i’ve the same behavior, but it work, i don’t know if is ok or not…

2- with the italian localization the activity feed link works good (is the RSS feed link at the right?)

3- at this moment no, I will do other tests and if I find something I write it here…

3.) What about the issue “if localization is active i don’t receive email from bp, like notices, […] if i disable localization the email works […]”, mentioned here?

@m@rk: Per example: If someone posts on my wire… Everything is fine – I get an email.

@arturo84: The RSS-Symbol is in the right corner, yes (besides sitewide activity). But it doesn’t work with my german localization

Ps: Hallo ihr fleissigen Brüder bei BP-Germany – kennt ihr dieses Problem?! :_)

    thanks, MIchael

@miguael: yes, it’s right. and works ok for me with italian localization.

the problem with widgets changing the localization and the standard english language is verified… the calendar widget is a wpmu widget and is activated by changing the language but the BP widgets no…

edit:@sgrunt: all? email, widget changing english-italian-english..etc? activity feed?

the problem changing italian-english language and the “ghost widgets” was also with you?

on buddypress italy site the language file was update at the rc-1 relese and works without problem with trunk #1128.

i’ve changed the language to italian, and everything seems to run fine.

I only have had to change the TITLE of each feed, cause the word “attività” (site wide activity) breaks the feeds.

ok, but if you change the italian language to english the widgets remain active or not? you can do this test please?

oh my friend, surely i will never change the language back to english again…if the widgets will vanish again my users will kill me :-)
