Friend request is not working

I am working on WordPress 2.9.2 and Buddypress 1.2.3 and is having trouble with Friend Request.
The user send a friend request and the other user receives the Friend Request, but the accept friend request is not working. I get this error:
“There was a problem accepting that request. Please try again.”
Any ideas?
