Will buddypress work for this site redesign

I am going to redesign a site for a local community organizer. The site they have now is a place where members can come and post their information. There are 4 groups (churches, businesses, individuals and community partners).
New member (a church, business, etc) would sign up on a form and then are approved by the owner of the site.
Once the new member’s profile has been formed the new member should be able to:
• To create sub-groups.
• To have other members join their profile (for example if a member of a church wanted to join it’s church’s profile).
• Members will not have access until the Member is approvedI was looking for options to do this and buddypress seemed like the easiest.

Everythings possible as long as you can code it (or when your wallet is big enough).
This might help you out a bit, but to get all your specific functions, you’ll have to do some coding.
