Password-field shows dots at user-Sign-Up

    I have a strange behaviour at my website, bot sure where this is coming from:

    when a NEW user is registering at the website (create an account), then the Password (or at least the dots in the Password-field) are automatically filled-in.
    Why is this ? this is pretty confusing for the user.

    Is there a way to disable this ?
