activation emails not being sent in BP 1.42 and WP 2.92

i’ve just set up a site (theconfluenceproject.com) and have latest install of BP (1.42) running on WP 2.92.

i signed up for BP on my site using two different email addresses, and checked spam folder + regular inbox over the last hour but never received activation emails.

is anyone else having this issue?

any suggestions?

i just deleted the plugin. then reinstalled. tested with a different email account.

is it possible that there’s something wrong with my server that’s preventing these emails from being sent?

Disable BuddyPress. Do you get any emails from WordPress on itself? e.g. user registration, comment notification, etc.

yes, receiving email from WP (comment notification).

ok guys. figured it out. this killed me today. godamighty.

anyway, there’s some kind of mail issue for ppl hosted at bluehost. you have to get the Mail From plugin:

http://code.andrewhamilton.net/wordpress/plugins/mail-from/

and then everything works fine.

just heads up for ppl that have this issue in the future.

I have a problem with the mail-from plugin- whenever someone sends a Private Message it comes from the address set by the mail-from (which in our case is my address- now I am getting replies to people’s private messages because they hit Reply without noticing where it was going- this would not happen before because it came from no-reply @domainname.com
