The (buddypress.org) forum rss feed is broken.

Yes. https://buddypress.org/support/topics/feed/ should lead to topics (?) but gives the whole activity feed.

Last time I remember it working was 20th june, after that it completely stopped working.

Could we please get update when this will be resolved, we need to insert RSS link for our community forum to keep users update.
