Adding limits according to role

Hi.
I’d like to add limitations to inbox size according to the users role in the system. This way basic members of a site may have room for f.example 50 messages max in their inboxes, and full members would have f.example 1000 messages max before they need to tidy up their inboxes.
The siteadmin would have to be able to set the limits, and this would not be accessible to authors and below.
Is there such a plugin, or is anyone working on one?
