How to change themes?

    Say I want to use the default BP theme.
    What can I do to make it a little different? Make it unique, like changing colors, changing background or whatever you can think of.

    Finally, each theme has a big blog in the middle of the site with my first post there. But I want that to be removed and make it a fixed text with some info on what the site is. How can I do that?

    get firefox, install firebug then right click on what ever you want in your theme and it will tell you what css rules apply to it or like the image’s location.
