Listing private posts in the home feed

I am trying to setup a system where all blog posts, including posts marked as private, are listed on the home feed. Obviously, I only want those that are logged in to see the private posts. At this time, if I mark the post as private it does not show up in the home feed. I am new to buddypress so I may be missing something simple that can make this happen. Thanks for your help, Bill
