Buddypress spam problem

Hi I currently am running buddypress at this URL: http://www.writeandshare.co.uk
I did a google search on the email address: trista.abbas@yahoo.com and confirmed that ther is some bot going around.
Somehow this bot has managed to use the message feature to send a spam email to all of our users. I am baffled as to how this could happen. I don’t appear to have been hacked. The database and files all look in tact.
I’m used to bots making spam comments, and I have spam filter for that which works. What really concerns me is how this bot was able to get to the private messages.
Any ideas?
