sign-up based on existing listserv membership?

I would like to make a WordPress site for parents in a 10-school district. Most pages would be private (members only). I don’t want to maintain the subscribers base in the wordpress site — I want that maintenance to continue to be done at the level of the individual schools’ parent listserves, some of which are implemented with yahoo groups and some of which are implemented with google groups.
Is this possible with buddypress? In other words, can I make it so the authentication process checks whether the aspiring visitor is logged into either yahoo groups or google groups?
What I really need is to make a group of groups that includes a mix of yahoo and google groups.
I also want to make sure that the members-only content will be completely invisible to non-members, including google searches.
