Add media to Profile

I am looking to add images and video to the main profile page, via custom profile fields the user will define.

I have tried Oembed with no luck thus far. Ultimately a WYSIWYGs system would be ideal which like the backend of wp that would allow the user to upload media. Or am I bets tackling these two as separate issues.

Help appreciated.

To take care of the second, there’s a plugin we’ve built aplugin, BuddyPress Media. Do check it out. It’ll sort out the uploading and sharing of media.
