How do I default to "Grid" mode under groups instead of "List"

OK, I’m setting my groups as my main page right. I really want all the groups to default to “grid” mode instead of “List.” I think it looks more modern and “app” like. How can I change this? Plug-in? Code? Anyone? Anyone?
When users show up on my site, I want them to see “grid”
I’d also like it to default to “my groups” instead of “all groups.”
