Plugin to make buddypress site Invite only

Is there a plugin so it makes people ask to become a member? and or that will allow me to also send out just invites? I am using Invite plug in now, and I have restricted 90 % of my site using s2 plugin, but i don’t want people to have to pay so it is in free mode for now.

Can I make a landed page where people email me permission to join? After they are a member they can use my Invite plugin on my home page to invite their friends to join.

Any Ideas

Just wasted $19 to find out that plugin only works on multisite with buddypress, not a single site with buddypress.

Ambiguous product description and lack of an easy refund mechanism makes me warn you off wpmudev.
