How to change: started the forum topic XXX in the group XXX

In the activity stream, there is a statement at the top of each new activity. Even though the slug is changed from forum to tutoring, this activity stream statement remains forum topic. How can the statement XXX started the forum topic XXX to XXX started the tutoring topic XXX?

Which file needs editing? Maybe a function needs to be added with a filter?

    Thank you.

you can change those things by creating a new language file. look through the dev docs for a how to

So – the bp-custom.php changes the slug and then must go through a language file to change the activity portion …

Doesn’t that seem rather odd? You’d think it should be done in one place … ;)

OK. Done. But what a horrible procedure :p

I’ve gone over this issue before but it’s really the best way currently to change up the internal text. Though going through a file and finding every instance can be a bother

Welp – glad to have learned something new today. I can see where it is powerful for making many changes at one time.

I went with the poedit software and only goofed up by not naming the po file properly the first time through. Otherwise the directions are spot on .. just a PITA. Probably should have put the file in a different directory too .. will maybe make that change later.

Regardless, forgot to thank you for steering me in the right direction.
