Four Groups Managing One Members List

Hello Friends,
I am using BP for a site that involve 4 (four) different office locations.
Regarding our BP Members, we only want ‘one’ Member list. The Members in this list live in one of four geographical locations, (per city area office location).
I need to identify each of the four (office) locations, and would like to know; could I somehow do this by creating 4 Groups? Can I ask -would this work? If so, would I create four groups and then somehow relate each Member individually to their own Group? Or.., is there a much better / easier method?
Is there a way we can make these four Groups hidden, but yet connect to them for event announcing for instance with our Calendar? For example: a Members only event.
