Add a link to member's profile?

Hello,
I would like to add a link to every member’s profile but I don’t know how. The link I would like to add is: http://mydomain.com/author/username (with username being the actual username of the member).
How do I get the username and how do I add this link? I have tried adding this in member-head.php but for some reason the link is: http://mydomain.com/members/http://mydomain.com/author/username
