Ok guys I have been going down a rabbit hole on how The User Profiles work when you have Buddypress installed. Because what I understand is that buddy press hooks into the native wordpress profiles and extend it in your install.

So my question is this how do you create User/Member Profile Register by creating a extended profile fields so that you can segment roles.

In my example I am wanting to create users based on Neighbors fields:

I am a: Resident
I am a: Business Owner
I am a: Friend/Fan

of x community/neighborhood.

I hope that make sense. So my questions is how does that relate to the User Fields/Roles in the general WordPress Profiles.
