Notifications stopped working? BP 1.9.1

Hey guys,

While my site isn’t using the regular WP/BP toolbar, the new updated have given logged-in users an error message if they have notifications pending.

The notification list prints out “Array” and this error message appears:

I’m working on updating to the new BP integration, on my next site update – But it’s a few weeks until that happens. Any simple temporary solution to this?

Did this just happen with your upgrade to 1.9.1 from 1.9, or were you upgrading from an earlier version of BP?

You mention you’re not using the regular WP toolbar. What are you using to power the Notifications dropdown from your screenshot? Is it custom coded?

Just checked – It came when I upgraded to 1.9
I’ve just disabled the regular WP toolbar, the notifications dropdown isn’t custom coded.

Hm, there must be *something* powering the dropdown. By default, BuddyPress doesn’t have this kind of dropdown. What theme are you using?
