    I am testing out the buddypress. Clean Install.I try to register an account with a valid email. new user shows up in the Admin Panel, but it does not send the activation email to new user.
    What am I missing?

    Did you check the junk email folder?

    yep, been an hour already;
    i have another wordpress based webite on the same host, and emails are always sent

    another point, notifications are emailed with no problem

    I could not wait for the answer, so I re-installed the buddypress, seems to be working now
