Security – Hidden groups

    Hi all,

    Hoping that someone may be able to help me 🙂 I am using the latest version of BuddyPress alongside BBP Press.

    I have set up a forum with various groups. To view a group you need to register which is done via manually activating users after they have completed the registration process. Some of the groups are required to be hidden from certain users…

    e.g. Group 1, can be viewed by any member when logged in. Group 2, can only be viewed by specific members.

    I understand that I can set groups to Public, private and hidden but need to hide certain groups to only specific members.

    If anyone has any advice on how I would go about achieving this I would greatly appreciate you help.

    @vernontessio,

    it depends on how you use bbpress ! As standalone forum or as group forum.

    If you use buddypress’s group forums, you create a hidden group which will be only seen by the members who belongs to it and nobody else.

    If you use bbpress outside of BP as standalone forum, you can use Private Groups plugin.

    Remember also that Everything in a BuddyPress community revolves around its members.
