    I would like to use the buddypress for a association website. Each of the members would have the capability to register and select a company that they work for. The challenge that I have is that some of the members work for several companies. How can I accomplish this while maintaining the integrity of the data? I am trying to avoid open text fields because users will likely to input the same company multiple ways

    Sounds like a checkboxes field in the ‘Base Group’ is what you want.

    Go to:
    /wp-admin/users.php?page=bp-profile-setup&group_id=1&mode=add_field

    Add a Field and select ‘checkboxes’ as the field type.
