Allowing Non-Members to Post In Group Forums

I’m setting up a site where I’d like to have a variety of groups that allow registered users who aren’t a member of that group to comment in the group forum.
An example would be someone who was considering getting a cat could post their cat ownership questions in the Cat Group Forum without actually being a member of the Cat Group. Is this possible?
I’m moderately competent at wordpress so I would be happy with suggestions ranging from total solutions to what code to look at modifying. Thanks in advance for any help!
