Our Member Posts Pages Not Showing in Buddypress
-
Hi All
We are total newbies to WP & Buddypress so don’t know much. We’ve lost contact with the guy who recently built our new website for our online business college. He hardly gave us any editing instructions and we’ve not heard from him again.
The issue we are having is that when a student joins, and is enrolled in a course, we would like to ‘post a notification’ to the ones in that course whose box we have ticked in ‘bulk’. But we have tried this, and when it tries to actions it just says “Sent to 0 Members” after we press ‘send’.
We have version WP4 we believe
Our website is: http://www.australiaonlinecourses.com if you would like to have a look
Please help us, because the only way we can send a message to students who have registered, is via Email.
Thank you all.

The functionality you describe seems to be custom (not the default functionality provided by BuddyPress or WordPress) so you’ll need to provide more details on how exactly it works in order for the guys here to try to help.
Thanks for your reply.
I tried to copy & paste the html code of the page, but it wouldnt accept it in this box.
If possible, could we set you up as a temporary ‘admin’ so that you can have a look at it for us?We could email it to an email address, so no one else sees it.

Australia Online Coursesps – if allowed, here is an excerpt of html code from the ‘member notification’ part of the ‘courses/products’ page:-
[mod edit] The site stylesheet in this context isn’t relevant, removing to reduce thread length ( also please format code using the code button or backticks)
The excerpt you posted is CSS. Unfortunately, that will have nothing to do with posting a notification to a list of members.
The functionality is likely to be either:
- a plugin: Check the list of plugins you have installed by going to wp-content/plugins or you can check your list of plugins via the WP admin area
- code in your active theme’s functions.php file. This can be found by going to wp-content/themes/your-theme/functions.php
- code in some custom template file you have (could be anywhere in your theme’s directory).
- in an optional file called bp-custom.php which resides at wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php (you may not have one)
Hope this helps you look in the right places?
Thanks Henry!! Your are a huge help!
ps – while I search for the social network notify members plugin, would you mind just having a quick look at this ‘list’ of our plugins I just happen to have on hand?:

I went to ‘plugins’/buddypress/settings, and found the following (I note that “account settings” is not ticked – could this be it?)
I have bolded the ones that are ticked currently.Settings:

Site Tracking Record activity for new posts and comments from your site.
BuddyPress Core It‘s what makes time travel BuddyPress possible!
Community Members Everything in a BuddyPress community revolves around its members.@brent-havill while ‘we’ will help out as much as possible the forum is geared to help with specific BP issues, from what you have shown us in this thread you have a highly custom and specialist site in which BP plays a supporting role or perhaps a more involved role depending on what custom coding has been effected to tie BP into your course theme and supporting functions.
It is going to be close to impossible to help you in any really practical sense without direct access to the code & install, and in that respect and given the type of site you appear to be attempting to run you will need development support for this and any other issues that almost inevitably will arise (not meaning to be alarmist but sites do require attention from developers from time to time to ensure things run smoothly)
As for the BP notifications setting , enable that but understand what it does in enabling users to manage their member details from the front end and to set or unset a series of notification types they wish to receive – is this where things aren’t working for you? it’s hard to say but likely not, however we simply do not know what type of custom work may have been done to extend any default functionality.
