[Resolved] Manage Signups permissions error

  • @jstallard

When I try and activate, email or delete a user on the Manage Signups page I get the error:

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

    I’m the multisite superadmin.

I’m running WordPress 4.01 multisite subdomain install in root directory and Buddypress 2.1.1.

I’m running Catchbox Pro 3.2 and have tried switching to twentytwelve on the main blog but the problem reoccurs.

I have no custom functions in bp-custom.php. I’ve tried deactivating all plugins on the main blog except buddypress and network deactivating all network activated plugins.

I’ve found no relevant errors in the system logs. Just this:
[Thu Dec 11 20:12:21 2014] [error] [client 17.142.151.92] script ‘/var/www/vhosts/webhive.com.au/httpdocs/r.php’ not found or unable to stat

I have my own dedicated server running Ubuntu 10.04.

I’ve never used Manage Signups before so don’t know if it used to work.

    Thanks!

Have you correctly setup the permalinks ? (anything but default)
Did you used the BP repair tool ?
Are all required BP component pages existing ?

Don’t know what the r.php file is and which service or plugin use it. See here if it can help you to debug: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/23118737/php-file-not-found

    Thanks for your reply.

My main blog’s permalinks are set to Post Name.

    The BP component pages exist.

I think r.php is part of the Facebook plugin. I’ve deleted it – wasn’t working anyway.

Can’t find the BP repair tool anywhere. Is it part of the Buddypress plugin, or an add-on?

BP Repair Tools in wp-admin: Tools > BuddyPress
Not sure where it will show up in your multisite, main screen or subsite?

Thanks Shane – Buddypress Tools was under Tools as you said, on the dashboard of my main blog. I checked all the boxes and ran it but unfortunately it doesn’t fix the permissions problem 🙁

    OK fixed!

Buddypress was no longer network activated. (The Manage Signups page was still there.) After the WordPress 4.0.1 upgrade I experienced problems on my multisite. Deactivating Buddypress helped (although the problem may have originated elsewhere).

Network activating Buddypress fixes the Manage Signups page. Now I just need to work out the fastest way to deactivate it on 100 blogs!

Congrats on the fix. Multisite + BP can be confusing.
