[Resolved] Error on user registration

    Hi,

I am quite new to wordpress and buddypress. I have installed WP 4.2.1 and BP 2.2.3.1 on a subdomain. I have also installed the buddyboss theme. When users click to register i get a “internal server error”

I have tried deactivating the Buddyboss theme but this error still occurs. But when i deactivate Buddypress users can register with no issues at all. I can also create users from wp-admin without any issues.

    Thanks in advance

    @fugu78,

you are using joomla on the mainsite and WordPress on the subdomain.
Question is: is WP sharing the same DB as joomla or have you a complete separate install (db & cms) for your WP/BP site ?
Which type of WP install do you use ? Single or network ? (more about)
Are mainsite users and wp site users the same people ?

BuddyBoss has his own support forum. You probably have better to ask there directly.

Hi thanks for your reply. I am using a clean install. The joomla and WP sites are totally unrelated as they are installed on separate DB’s. This was a single install.

It isnt a buddyboss issue as the issue happens without Buddyboss being activated.

    OK.
Have you setup pretty permalinks to something other as “default” ?

When BP is setup correctly, activities and members directory should be (by default), your-site/members/ and your-site/activities/
You actually have your-site/?page_id=5 for activities.

Check that you assigned a page to any activated BP component – ensure also they exist in page directory. These page should be blank and without any parent template or model. Just a title, nothing else.

    More setup details on Codex.

Ok sorry, i hadnt set up permalinks. The register no longer goes to an internal error page but it goes to a blank page in the website now? Should i see a registration form?

Have you assigned a page to “registration” ?
Again: each active BP component should have his own page.
