[Resolved] Install issue: menu hrefs don’t work

Hello to all,
i’m new to BP and with the install of wp and bp and some other plugins i have no clue why the pages don’t work. I get error page when i click on profile view/edit
or any other page.

Example: The requested URL /register/ was not found on this server!

note*
wp install was in root on vps

Thank you i did that now for about 5 times.
And I mean clean installs of wp and bp every time!!
every time the same thing.

what else could it be??

Also… i don’t see a htaccess file in the unzipped folder
i run vps linux

my site url : http://www.mysitename.com and nothing in a subfolder

searching for two days and reading… htaccess file missing and rewrite rules code added from old post!!!
