Buddypress notifications not working

    Hi, I am creating the website dexterlist.com and the registered users do not receive any kind of notification (email, profile bell, live notifications) when someone comments to their posts. I am using a paid theme called Kleo: http://seventhqueen.com/themedemo/?product=kleo, WordPress version 4.2.2 and Buddypress version 2.3.1. The support forum of the Kleo theme told me it is not a theme problem but a Buddypress one. Please advise.

    Possibly, but let us be sure. Can you activate TwentyFifteen and test again?

    Ok, with TwentyFifteen activated I receive email notifications but no in-site notification. With Kleo I don’t receive any notification at all (also not email).

    That indicates Kleo may be causing the email problem.

    Regarding the web-notifications, can you test again but this time use TwentyFifteen and deactivate all plugins (aside from BP).

    Update: I just tested again and I receive email notifications with Kleo activated as well. So it’s not a theme problem but a Buddypress one. Can you give me instructions on how to solve it? Thank you!

    So Kleo support says Buddypress NEVER had notifications for comments or likes, only for private messages and friend requests. Is that true? Comments and likes are an important part of a social network and my client wants all of them to be fully functional, not only private messages and friend requests.
