BP 2.4 Group Cover Image – sizing issues

I seem to be getting some odd results when trying to add cover images to my groups.
For example I know the screen area I’m trying to fill is 800 pixels by about 200 pixels, but when I load an image of this size only 80% of the width and about 70% of the depth is shown. The rest is cropped.
If I reduce my image still further I eventually get to a point where the full image is shown, but by this point it’s pixelated.
Anyone else getting this?
