BP_CHECKINS GREAT PLUGIN BUT NOW SHOWING ADDRESS IN GREEK CHARACTERS

hello guys,
I am using BuddyPress Checkin Plugin for a BuddyPress site in Greek. The problem I have is that this plugin uses geolocation API, finds my address and shows good in Greek but when I post it in BuddyPress activity, the address shows strange character (cannot recognize greek characters, chinese like this ÎÏάννινα, Îλλάδα).
I show that pbci_acitivity_adress stores that in database. What should I change so as to recognize Greek characters? The plugin uses jQuery. Should I embed a UTF-8 charset in jQuery?
the plugin is great just this problem i cannot solve.
i used adddefaultcharset utf-8 in htacess but still nothing.i am using buddypress 2.3.5 and wordpress 4.3.1
Please help me i tried anything. even saving again the files with utf-8 but still the same problem
