User does not show up in BP-Members search

    I have a user account that does not show up when I search for it in the BP members directory. The account sees fine – when I edit it I can view the profile with no trouble and the URL to the profile works fine. It just won’t show up when I use the search field (which of course means other users can’t find this user if they search for her).

    I have searched using name, username, email etc. Nothing works. I just get user not found.

    Does anyone have any ideas about why this is happening?

    I don’t know if there are more accounts like this – I have over 1000 and so have not yet systematically tried to search for them all!

    Ah! I just realised that the user in question has never been active!

    I assume that explains the search failure?

    The user most likely hasn’t logged in yet. You will find once a user has logged in for the first time, they will become active and show up in the members directory.

    Thanks Henry – that makes sense. I checked and yes it’s true the particular user has never logged in!
