Just a little advice please

Hi!

OK. I have and idea of a website that I wish to do. The whole buddy/word/commerce sounds like something I might dreamt of some time ago, so hallelujah for that.
I’ve spent a few hours yesterday, and the whole day to today really, looking at thousands of templates, plugins, widgets and, the bosspress, buddypress, wordpres.

Now I can’t seem to differ one thing from another at all, lol.
So my question is:

Should I buy a combo of buddypress + commerce + wordpress (and what about buddyboss and buddyform??) – if I want to create a social community where also all the memebers can both buy and sell stuff to other members of my website? Or is that the wrong combo?

Very greatful for some help 🙂

My approach is usually start by installing WordPress and then install and activate the BuddyPress plugin. From there the next step is to choose a theme. Here you will have both free and paid options. You’ll find some good free themes here. Once you’re done with your website’s look and feel, begin to add functionality such as an ecommerce plugin like WooCommerce.

I’m not sure if this is still of interest – but BuddyBoss has developed a premium theme Social Marketplace that could probably do what you’re looking for:

Yes, you would also need WordPress (free) and BuddyPress (free) and WooCommerce (free) to get it running. I haven’t tried it myself yet, but I’m currently working on a site using Social Portfolio by BuddyBoss and I must say they did a great job. It can be quite demanding to get everything working, but so far I have no complaints. Cheers!
