Notifications loop & friend request loop in header?

    Hey I was wondering if anyone could point me in the write direction for echoing out newest friend requests and newest notifications in my header? I have already used the messages loop to do this and that works like a charm and was wondering if there was anything like this for notifications and friend requests (would be cool to have a friend accept or reject link in the loop)?

    Thank you (I have searched everywhere but cannot find any info on this).
