    @tomx17

I’ve done extensive reading for the past 2 hours trying to find a solution to this problem without asking for help, but I’m still lost.

WordPress 4.6 running Twenty Fourteen theme.

    I have done the following:

    1. I have Settings > General panel> Membership ? anyone can register checked.
    2. Dashboard > Pages > Add new page > Name it Register
    3. Settings > BuddyPass > Pages tab > selected Register page for register page.

When i click register on the site as im logged out… I get this error every time.

    “Not Found

The requested URL /wordpress/register-2/ was not found on this server.

    Apache/2.4.9 (Win32) PHP/5.5.12 Server at localhost Port 80”

I also tried manually typing in “/wordpress/register/” in the address bar. Nothing still..

I really need help getting this sorted out. Please and thanks?

    hi @tomx17,

when you name a page Register, it’s slug must be register ! Not register-2.
This comes also when you create several pages with the same name.
And happens also when you delete register, omit to delete it permanently and recreate a new register page.

You have also to setup permalinks to whatever but “default”.

Before installing plugins, you have to check that WP and BP are working correctly together “out of the box”. That’s the best way to go safe, as the base install is ok BEFORE any additionnal plugin is installed – which is also much easier to debug in case of trouble.

Deactivate all plugins and see WP and BP with 2014 as first.

    Thank you danbp!

I followed your instructions and i was able to register new users, but i never got confirmation emails to those new accounts i added. I never received emails to confirm my username/account.

After the register button worked, I decided to install buddypress and then it happened again. This time, when i installed buddypress, it AUTOMATICALLY installed the register AND activate page. BUT, both of them do not work. and every single link i click on, on my website brings me to an error screen saying that there is no page for that.

No page for register, no page for members, no page for activity, etc.

What do i need to do from here to get everything working?

Also, I’ve looked through the internet for quite a long time for a thorough up-to-date tutorial of this.. and there are none that i could find. Is there a tutorial you could point me towards that will actually help me get all this set up correctly?

I’d love to use buddypress for my site, but i don’t want to use it if it’s going to have pages crashing once my site is live – that would be horrific!

Tips? help? What do i do from here?

Can you give an url so somebody can check what’s going on.

If you need some tutorial, as you begin with BP, the best is to read from the codex.
And that starts with Required !

I don’t have my site live. I haven’t paid for hosting yet until i can get it situated. Would you be available to help walk me through everything on skype?
