BuddyPress.org

On my activity posts I have “<title>Activity – Matty – mysite.com</title>”
which is selected by google and other search engines which does not make very much sense and isnt very descriptive or helpful in the search results.
How could I remove these title tags from appearing in my html?
Also at the top of ever single activity post I have an activity h1 tag which just says “activity” which would then probably get selected to show up in the search engine as well
How could I remove that also just for activity post pages?

Or is there a way to change these title and h1 tags to display the first 40 characters (or what ever is the limit for google search result title instead) of the activity post instead? I think this would be a lot better for seo?!
