Blank Buddy Press Pages after bbPress integration

I cannot load any buddy press pages in my website after trying to integrate bbPress into my network. Buddy Press Forums link on the Buddy Press Navigation always went to a white page while the group forums would sit on a WordPress Page called Forums. But, it would look like it was a part of the Buddy Press area.

Then, I tried working with having both Site wide and Group forums, but eventually got it so the Site Wide was viewable on the page Forums, but you couldn’t see topics after clicking on a forum. It was also not in the buddypress portion of my site. I couldn’t see a way to add a new topic either. I even tried shortcodes. Nothing.

I deleted the option to use discussion forums per BuddyPress> Components. That was what allowed me to see the site wide forums instead of the group forums. I turned this back on when I changed my mind.

So I scrapped the idea of Site Wide forums and wanted to just create group forums, in buddy press, and make one big group for everyone to use. Now, when I was in Buddy Press> Pages>Directories I reset the Discussion Forums to Forums from a new page I had created back called Group Forums. I thought, maybe I can’t get the Forums to work in the Buddy Press Navigation, because it doesn’t see the right path to get there. I then changed my Buddy Press Directory for Members from the page Network to the page Members. I did this because the WordPress Forums page was a parent of Members.

Now all of the Buddy Press Pages are white. I change the Members directory back to the original Network Page – and still white pages, nothing on them.

I know it’s a lot there, but I’m hoping an eye into why and how I did everything would help. I have also deleted bbPress and deactiviated and reinstalled and reactivated Buddy Press. Nothing is working.

    Help. Haha.

Bump. I need help with this. Right now buddypress is broken on the site and I want to get it back up and running.

Okay, something else I just noticed.

If I go into BuddyPress in the Dashboard, and go to Pages, I can individually click view on each option and I can see the pages. They build fine.

I cannot get my buddy press header links to work. I.E. Going to My Account>Activity or My Account>Profile. Those pages end up white.

I am having a very similar issue. Mine came about as a result of forum installation as well. I’ve got to run right now – will check back in a bit to see if there has been any light shed.

isis, just a question, are you running the Membership Plugin from WPMUDev?

Looks like someone else in their community I’m a part of has the same problem I am. But I’m using that plug in. I’m getting help now. I’ll let you know.

If you’re not, I’d like to know, because then it isn’t the Membership Plugin problem.

Hey snowlas – I AM running Membership. I’ll check out the forum over at WPMU Dev – thanks for the heads up!

    Here is my thread: http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/blank-pages-in-buddy-press

Okay, snowlas – I am watching that thread – I see “Tim” is on it; I sure am hoping he has an explanation for all this as it is driving me nuts, hehe! Thanks for the link and for looking out for me! Fingers crossed this gets resolved for the both of us :)

I had this same issue with buddypress+sitewide forums. I resolved by unchecking the box in forum configuration that added /forum/ prefix to permalinks. The setting recommends to be checked, but unchecked fixed my white pages issue.

So you unchecked the forum configuration in BuddyPress, correct? And then you placed forum in the permalinks settings for all of WordPress? Or is this during the BuddyPress install?

I ended up getting rid of, or trying to anyways, site-wide forums. What if I want to use group forums – am I able to still do this?

I appreciate the help. I’ve been desperately searching for an answer for this for days.

In the sitewide forums(bbpress) configuration there is an item that is checked by default to prefix /forum/ to permalinks. This changed my permalink to /forum/forums/forum_name which broke the links. I unchecked this which made my permalink the normal /forums/forum-name and fixed the blank page issue for me.

Oh darn. No such luck. :( I thank you though! I am really thinking this is a problem with the Membership plugin or something. But man, did I hope for that to be my solution!
