Buddy Press on Multipress

I have a site that I built with WordPress and the Pagelines Platform Pro Theme. I think it is a BuddyPress enabled theme. The site is http://eraeducationproject.com
I made it a multisite and added another secondary site. In this secondary site which is erauniversity.com I would like to make a Buddypress site so college students can make profiles and interact etc.
I’m concerned that when I network install the buddypress on the erauniversity.com it will effect the main site in some way.
What is the best way to avoid buddypress changing my main site?
