Okay, BP Gurus… best way around some open, some private
-
I’ll say thanks in advance! Here’s the scoop. I have a family and friends site (BP WPMS) some of it can be open with registration necessary, and other parts will be hidden or private. Am using BuddyPress Groupblog to associate the private blog with the private group (successfully) BUT on the homepage I have/had a listing of the blogs on the site which leaves the private blog open as it is a secondary blog not the main one.
Question #1: Can I use Multisite User Management to set the permission on the private blog, if so, how (and please be specific…my brain is fried!) To me it seems that the subscriber level would give subscribers to the main blog access to the private one as well. Any other ideas are welcome as well.
Question #2: Does anyone know of an easy way to protect a text link going to the homepage of the private blog? That should work as well.I can just go through the Group panel but none of the others are that way but I can do it if that is the only option.
While we are asking compatibility questions… with the groupblog plugin, will any of the group hierarchy plugins work????
Thanks in advance guys! I appreciate it!
Betty
