Presumably there’s something re-adding this after you have deleted it, was this added as part of a plugin?

Originally, did you decide to add it yourself? IF so then you should be able to delete it. Might be worth looking at the bp_xprofile_groups database table to try and get some clues as to what is going on.
Also, I’d try deactivating all other plugins to see if that fixes it – something might be preventing the database SQL delete action.

That would indicate you do indeed have a plugin that is adding this, deactivate all plugins, delete the profile group then reactivate your plugins one by one until it comes back, then you’ll know which one is causing it.
