Friends, Public and Private Message buttons not working

    @kirsteno

I cannot get the Add Friends, Public and Private Message buttons to show on my profile.
I have switched to Twelve sixteen, seventeen and nineteen and turned off all plugins except BuddyPress.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Buddypress several times
I have also tried on another website I have with the same themes and no other plugins.
    I am using
    Wordpress 5.2.2
    Buddypress 4.3.0
    https://ozzyspals.com/
I don’t even know exactly where these will buttons appear. I have even googled google images in desperation. Do they appear on the main page or in the sub-pages?
    Any help gratefully accepted!
    Kirsten

Are you visiting another users profile page or your own?

    Thanks for replying
I have tried my own and another dummy user I set up

If you visit ozzyspals.com/members/wedzzeditor as the other user it should show the buttons.

If not double check within Dashboard -> Settings -> BuddyPress that you have the required Components selected.

If the above doesn’t work I’m afraid I’m stumped and hopefully someone else will be able to help.

I have checked that I have friends connections ticked and the buttons are not showing either when I go in either as admin or the other user.

Thanks for your help. Can you just confirm exactly where the button normally appears?
    Many thanks

Thanks for this. Definitely nothing there. None of the three buttons. Thanks so much for your help. Hopefully someone else might have some ideas. Have a good weekend.

I have just accepted a friendship request from a newly registered user so that functionality is working but I still can’t see any buttons. Anybody have any suggestions, please?

Hey, I set up the test account.
When logged in and I go to ozzyspals.com/members/max007/ I see the following https://i.imgur.com/EQFDxXG.png which is what would be expected.
Have you tried another browser, can you see anything being blocked when you use the browser developer tools, network (F12)

I even tried logging into Chrome with a different Google account and still the same result.

I have looked with developers tools but I am none the wiser as there is nothing obvious switched off.
I will keep looking and thanks again for your help

Strange as that is what it would look like if you were not logged in

Thanks so much for your help. I think I am going to have to admit defeat and run Buddypress without the friends connections. Hope you have a great week. Thanks again for taking the time to help to sort this out.

    any solution?

No nothing. So, unfortunately, I need to get on with the website so I will have to go ahead with BuddyPress but without the Friends connections.

Hi, am logged in but i can’t see how to create a new topic.
Just want to raise my consent over the fact there may be a bug with the recent update. when i head over to my website dashboard-settings-BuddyPress-pages, all the pages assigned there seem to redirect back to my homepage. unless i set the directories to “none” which makes the plugin unusable.

    Kindly assist if you can.

    Thanks
