Access restricted by groups

Hello, I am an administrator of a company intranet.
The idea is that each group of users has access to specific content. So that a ‘subscriber’ user can be in several groups at the same time.
For example I want to put John in two different groups and he can see pages restricted only to these two groups.
Does anyone know if there is any plugin that can make it possible?
I have tried unsuccessfully for a single user to have multiple roles created such that each role has access to restricted content. I have also tried without success trying to get each user to have multiple plans where each plan allows restricted access.
