If you are using the BuddyPress template pack then deactivate it.
Just confirmed that it is a bp-template pack issue. How do you recommend I integrate buddypress with other wp themes then?
That error will usually happen when you try and use the template pack with a theme that is already designed for BuddyPress. Are you sure that’s not what is happening?
One of your themes is installed on the main site; I want to use a different theme on a multi-site.
So, would I network disable all buddypress themes?
disabling all buddypress themes did not work
I mean, network deactivating
The second I made the mistake of trying to activate Network with BP Template installed, I cannot use BP Template again – tried multiple uninstalls and deactivations/reactivations. Just going to restore site from yesterday.
explain more about your set up. multisite? using custom themes? plugins? Sounds like you are using template pack on various sub sites, yes?
Ok… I’m a dope.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated by this technically deficit boobhead! I can usually figure something out with good instruction – and I’ve tried figuring this out unsuccessfully 🙁
I thought I needed to activate the BuddyPress Template Pack and when I did, I now get:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare bp_dtheme_ajax_querystring() (previously declared in /home/usafun/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/ajax.php:91) in /home/usafun/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/custom-community/_inc/ajax.php on line 81
I can’t get into dashboard of my blog to deactivate the template pack or anywhere else on the website at http://www.funseekersusa.com/blog 🙁
This is my son’s non-profit organization (he’s 13 and just incorporated in Florida), so I really need help undoing what I did to crap out his blog.
Again, any and all help would be greatly appreciated (and is desperately needed).
I thought I needed to activate the BuddyPress Template Pack
Why?
The theme you chose is a BuddyPress enabled, aware theme; you do not need to or want to run the template pack on it.
I would just delete the ‘Custom Community’ theme and install a fresh copy and start over.
Why? Like I said, I’m a dope. I had updated plugins and saw there was one not activated. I clicked activate as I read it and freaked… but it was too late 🙁
So there’s no way to save the posts and pages that there are, let alone the design I did for our son with the Custom Community theme?
WHEW… not such a dope after all… uploaded original files and all is back up at http://www.funseekersusa.com/blog… My son will never know :X LOL! Thanks for your help!
