Social Media Posts Categorized?

Greetings.

I am completely new to BuddyPress.
A customer of mine wants to create a small social media network with BuddyPress.
He is asking whether a user’s new post could be categorized, just as blog posts are categorized in WordPress.
He also wants to know if the user’s friends will be able to search posts by category, created by other users in the network.

@zandros3 To filter your activities, you can utilize hashtags. Each hashtag will serve as a filter criterion. Activities are not a post type, so there are no direct taxonomy options available by default.
