Got Forum to work now to clone the install

    Perhaps this is the wrong place to post, but I successfully setup BP with the forums… Hurrah!

    What I would like to do next is backup both the database and website directory. Then install it in a second website directory for another project. Create a new database for the new install, then upload the saved data into the new database and tweak.

    My first question, can it be done?

    My second question (if the first is yes) How?

    1. manually by going through the mysql database and changing data?

    2. Really cool plugin I don;t know about

    3. Interesting sql script

    Yes it can be done, and number 1 is your best bet.

    Things to remember:

    1. You’re going to want to create new Salt keys in your wp-config.php and bb-config.php files.

    2. You won’t have any access to your website until you get all of the domain references in the second database aimed at your second domain.

    The way that I did this was actually to get everything fully installed and synced together, and then dropping all of the tables in the DB and importing them from the original, and then tweaking as necessary.
