widgetized sidebar not working..

    Having an issue with my sidebars.

    I am converting a standard wordpress theme to a buddypress theme for the homepage of the site.

    I upgraded the them so as I could include the BP widgets in the sidebar, but when I try to add the widgets in the admin panel they appear to be added in the backend but when I view the page I still get the message

    “Please log in and add widgets to this column. Add Widgets “

    Any ideas how I can fix this?
