Can I remove excerpts from the site-wide activity widget?

Wow; I’m really digging Buddypress. Just started delving into it, but I’m running into a roadblock. The test site I’m using is at http://www.tribblogs.com/wpmu â€” I can’t seem to find any way to remove the excerpt from the site-wide activity widget.

Should I be using a straight WP/PHP command instead of a widget, or are there other alternatives? Any help is appreciated.

.activity-list blockquote { display: none; }

How about just removing the blog excerpts or blog activity completely (since I have a latest blog posts widget anyway)?

Kunal, only removing blog posts from the activity will require some php hacks on the respective files. But I haven’t done that.

ok, my question is, how do i limit the number of words (excerpt)(currently 55) of blog posts that appear on the site wide activity widget???

I did edit the formatting.php file but that did not work. Where is it exactly???
