Group-avatar: not able to change image for already existing group

I do have BP-version 1.0.1 installed.
I have just tried to change the Group-Avatar.
I do not get any error-message, but actually no image is displayed. The standard-image just disappeared. Now it shows the name of the group instead of an image.
Seems to be a BP-bug ?
It worked fine when creating a “new” group and immediately inserting a custom image. But when a group is already existing having the standard-default-image, then changing to a custom-image is bringung-up this issue.
Also would like to note that the group which I have created was a “private group” (not public group).
Anyone able to help ?
