How To Move 'My Profile' Menu To Active Status Bar?

    I want to eliminate the “My Profile” menu column, placing the “edit profile” and “change avatar” links in the status bar. Which file do I edit to change the status bar (the one that prints ‘Active 2 minutes ago’) and how do I remove the “My Profile menu column?
